think as an individual

Everyone at some stage in their life has an experience that forces them to think about the way they are living and to wonder what life is all about, they have a nudging feeling in their conscience that they are not on the right track.

All of us suffer stress of some sort in our present social environment. It is impossible to avoid endless advertisements telling us how to improve our health and wealth and threatening dire consequences if we don't listen. We are encouraged to feel dissatisfied with our present life.

We are continually urged to do things now, to get faster communications and faster cars and to buy this or that to save our time. We can choose to accept the messages and develop more stress or we can take control of our own minds and start asking WHY?

Science has us conditioned to believe that life started by a chance combination of atoms following a "big bang" and eventually will come to nothing when it ends in a "big crunch". To provethis claim, they often quote Darwin's work.

Have you ever considered Darwin's conclusion following his study of the development of species through-out the world? If Darwin had had a different background, he could just as legitimately come to the conclusion that the development of the species was proof of a conscious desire for change within that species and thus proof that consciousness is an inherent part of all life.

Sciences' opinion that life started by chance cannot be proved and has led people in "advanced" nations to lose purpose in life.

Those people who are led by popular opinion plus accepted social norms, take the attitude that if there is nothing in the future except a repeat of the present, they might as well join the mob and enjoy themselves with the multitude of gadgets science is developing to keep them entertained.

An increasing number of people who choose this path , have given up the quest to develop a life which will help them to satisfy that urge coming from their inner consciousness . They have chosen the easy life which makes them like robots with no mind of their own. It can never give them that inner calm which is essential if they are to develop as individual, thinking persons.

Don't be like a clone turned out by our current educationists. stop and think your own thoughts

You will find a new purpose and quality in your life almost immediately.

today's thought

Did you enjoy life today ? Were you relaxed and happy ?

Were you able to cope calmly and understandingly with those incidents which upset your plans ?

Was your family happy when you returned ?

If you can honestly say "yes" to the above questions, you are evolving as a balanced person , in control of your thoughts and as a valued asset to society.

It is well for all of us to pause in our activities now and again and think..

We must all face a question at the end of this life, before starting the next stage of our existence.

It will not be "what position did you hold ?" or "what car did you drive ?"

but "Whom did you help on your way ?"

thought control

There is plenty of evidence in literature that those persons who retain control of their thoughts at all times are the people who lead the most rewarding lives with a freedom from the stress most members of Western civilizations suffer.

While most people accept our present life-style without querying the source of their stress, some are asking why stress exists in a civilization so prosperous.

The main factor causing stress is possibly the lack of any opportunity to escape the incessant noise and blatant advertising that is an integral part of our market economy. It is designed to keep people dissatisfied by making them feel they are missing out on something which is available to make life easier. There is no provision made for relaxation anymore, we are encouraged by those involved in money making, to keep busy and we are certainly not encouraged to find an atmosphere of silence, when we might start thinking rationally and realise the shallowness of all the advertising -- no one is giving us anything for nothing.

There is a solution to all this stress and it is possessed by us all. It is the guidance which has been embedded in our deeper conscience from the time of our creation. This guidance is there for anyone who tries to shut out the tempting diversions being thrust at them by their surrounding environment.

We all are aware that we carry this guidance with us, even though the rules may have faded somewhat into the background in the case of those individuals who have devoted their lives to the possession of material power and belongings. This latter group will never be free of stress while they have a nagging feeling that their life is diverging from these rules.

We can all experience a lessening of stress now if we try to avoid as much advertising and noise as possible. Anyone doing this with determination will enjoy some relief from stress almost immediately.

Start examining everything you are told and if necessary ask "why" rather than accepting it blindly. Listen to your innermost conscience and be guided by it . Never allow anyone to control your mind and ensure your actions and thoughts are always the result of serious consideration. This is not a chore and will become a habit and you will soon realise that life is easier and that you are aware of always being guided in your thoughts. The biggest change will be a developing awareness that  you are never alone, and the presence of God is always with you.

Control your thoughts

Do you find life happy, satisfying and free from stress ?

If you can honestly say "yes", then you are one of the fortunate individuals whose every-day thoughts are creating a life style that is in tune with the guidance carried in the inner conscience of every individual from the instant of their creation. These people are in tune with an Infinite Power and know they are never alone when they are faced with a decision.

Those who critically review their past life and the effects their decisions have produced, soon realise that their day to day thoughts have been crucial in guiding their life. It takes very little time to understand that thought has power, and how important it is to ensure we retain control of our thoughts at all times.

The power of prayer is far more effective than plain thoughts. Prayers, when correctly directed and with the knowledge that God is always with us , can achieve miracles.

Know the presence of God in every event in your daily life. Examine the outcome of every decision you make--even the most trivial. Think about it and consider what you have learnt from it.  After a while, this will become a habit and you will realise there is a Greater Power always with you.
